This is my dad, please come back and visit this page for more information from my dad about my condition.

Hi, I am Skyler's dad.  Skyler is my little partner.  We enjoy hunting, fishing, riding bikes, playing ball, and just being outdoors together.  We also play card games together and anybody that has played Skyler a game of cards knows how that ends up.  I just want to tell everybody Thank You for all the comments, words of encouragement, and prayers.  The amount of calls, texts, emails, cards, and gifts have been unbelievable and we truly appreciate all of it.  This is the beginning of a long road that we are fixing to travel.  We are going to stay positive and put our trust in God's hands.  We know this is not shocking to Him, this is just part of His plan.  We pray everyday that Skyler is cured from this illness.  Again, thank you to all!  We can't wait to be back home.

What a roller coaster ride we have been on these past few weeks.  At this point I hardly even know what day it is.  They are all running together.  As I read the comments that people are leaving, I can't help but to cry.  It's amazing to me to know that people are praying all over this nation for this little guy and our family.  There are several people on here that I have never met and may never meet.  We have been blessed by an awesome community.  Words cannot describe how I feel right now.  All I can say is Thank You!  This is all still like a dream to me and I should be waking up anytime.  But this is reality and we have to deal with it as parents.  We have to be strong, positive, and brave around Skyler and try to make the best decisions we can possibly make.  The questions that have been put on our plate are by far the hardest questions we have ever had to deal with.  In this situation, Melissa and I feel helpless.  But as parents we have to do everything in our power to help our son.  I feel that with God's help we are making the right decisions and that we are and we will beat this dreadful disease.  We pray everyday that God performs a miracle in Skyler's life.  Skyler has been very brave and strong through this whole thing.  And only at age 6, this little guy cares more about other people than himself.  He wants to make sure everybody else is ok.  Skyler has not really had anything to eat since last Tuesday.  We were at a restaurant and Skyler already had his food and Melissa was still waiting on hers.  Instead of him diving into it, he picked some up on his fork and tried to feed Melissa.  That's how he is.  He's an amazing little fella and there is something about him that draws people in.  He has several nurses and drs down here that you can tell truly care about him.  And he has only known them 3 weeks.  Thank you to all!  Continue to pray for a miracle.

Psalm 77:14  "You are the God who performs miracles; you display your power among the peoples."
